SECTOR 2

2.8 All media fairly represent the voices of society and
its minorities in its ethnic, linguistic, religious diversity.
Only public media which have more resources, are able to reflect with any degree
of equity, the opinions of minorities and society in its ethnic, linguistic and
religious diversity. However, the size of ethnic groups varies, as do the religions.
Hence, national radio attempts to represent all the different trends.

2.9 Media cover the full spectrum of economic, cultural, political, social, national and local perspectives and
conduct investigative stories.
The media cover a range of different topics, but very few matters requiring
investigation. Even if investigations exist, they are not detailed or extensive. The
panel explains this by the lack of time and capacity within the media. The media
focus more on politics, cultural and economic news. The best journalist award for
the coverage of phosphate production-related issues was instituted three years
ago.
