2.4 Transparency of ownership of media houses in
print/broadcasting is guaranteed by law and enforced.
Gabonese media owners are mostly pro-government politicians and of religious
denominations. Generally, the general public know who they are. The law itself
requires media promoters to declare the names and the social status of the owner
and the management before commencing operations.
Even under these conditions, it remains very difficult to know if the names known
to the public and administration are the true owners of some media entities. This
