The Code of Ethics for Media Professionals established by the Media Council of Tanzania, enjoins managers and editors not to disclose the source of any information given in confidence. The Parliamentary Committee (Ethics and Rights) has on a number of occasions summoned people and forced them to reveal confidential sources of information.
