External sources are accessible in Mozambique through an open signal relay or
through internal retransmission using local stations. In Mozambique, it is possible
to tune into a direct transmission or an internal re-transmission of the following
radio stations: BBC, Radiodifusão Portuguesa (RDP-Africa), Rádio France
Internacional, Voice of America and Deutsche Welle. It is also possible to directly
receive the African service of public television in Portugal (RTP-África) following
an agreement between that entity and Televisão de Moçambique.

Efforts are undertaken to increase the scope
of circulation of the print media, particularly to rural
communities.
Circulation of the print media in rural areas has grown slowly. Most newspapers
are only accessible in provincial capitals and a small number of district capitals,
where they arrive late. Media houses have not yet established a reliable and
eicient national distribution system for newspapers.
