Zimbabwe SECTOR 3: 3.1 Broadcasting regulation is transparent and independent; the state broadcaster is transformed into a truly public broadcaster. Broadcasting is regulated by an independent body adequately protected against interference, particularly of a political and economic nature. ANALYSIS: The Broadcasting Services Act 2001 established the Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe (BAZ) as the regulatory and licensing body, appointed and under the control of the Minister of Information, a department within the president’s office. Constant political interference is thus inevitable.
