The media cover the full spectrum of events, issues
and cultures, including business / economics, cultural, local
and investigative stories.

Analysis
Despite problems relating to specialisation, there is a true resolve
to provide information in all areas. Events are covered based on
the main areas of interests and the editorial line for private media
whose news desks are often poorly organised whereas state media
are compelled to cover all areas.

Gender mainstreaming is promoted in terms of equal
participation of both sexes in the production process.

Analysis
There are very few women active in the media industry, even though
there are no legal restrictions or limitations. The reason is put down
to social and cultural considerations that confine the women to secondary roles. There is much effort to be made at this level to change
mentalities for a more effective gender mainstreaming approach.

4.5 Gender mainstreaming is reflected in the editorial content.
Analysis
Gender-related information is reflected in the editorial content.
However, regarding the participation of female journalists, they operate in the same fashion as their male colleagues and work in sectors of their interest that are not necessarily gender-related.
