SECTOR 4

The main organisations are GEPCI (Group of Press Editors of Ivory Coast), the
National Conference of Publication Directors of Ivory Coast and UPPR (Union
of Media Managers for the Republic).
Established in 1995, the Observatory on Press Freedom, Ethics and Deontology
(OLPED) is the first media self-regulatory body in Africa. Ivory Coast served as
a model to other countries in the region.
Associations and networks are as numerous and diverse as centres of interest and
news items: sports, politics, culture, agriculture, environment, etc. Among these
shall be cited the Network of Women journalists of Ivory Coast and the Network
of On-Line Professionals of Ivory Coast (REPPELCI).
