The broadcast licensing process includes construction permits for ‘transmission sites, studios, multiplex head-ends, uplink earth stations and any broadcasting service infrastructure as may be determined by the Authority’ and the approval of broadcasting infrastructure (Section 7 (1-2)). Panellists said the TCRA ‘tries its best to issue licences’ even though the process is often long. The last licences were delivered in 2015.
