SECTOR 4 Opportunities for short-term training, to improve professional skills, are also in plentiful supply, both inside and outside the country. Some are very good, assisting journalists in their areas of expertise, where they have this, or with improving the understanding of certain materials. But, very often, there is the problem of some institution, public or private, believing it is qualified to train journalists. More problematic is the fact that many journalists, once they are trained, abandon the profession, possibly due to the fact the the salaries are not attractive.
