Citizens’ access to domestic and international
media sources is not restricted by state authorities.
No laws restrict the access of citizens to media sources, whether domestic or
international, and neither do state authorities, regardless of the media’s political
affiliation. Citizens’ access is thus only limited by lack of buying power: domestic
and international media are widely accessible for people who can afford them.
Foreign channels and programmes are available via satellite. Rates vary according
to the package being offered and the average cost is 60,000 MGA per month.
