Media House to set up an alternative annual report on freedom of press,
freedom of expression, and information access with the support of the
African Media Barometer panel;
Consultations around the collective convention;
Creating an inputs purchasing centre for media production;
Organise meetings between the legislative body and the media;
Capacity building in terms of advanced training for journalists in various
areas;
Advocacy for the inclusion of media support in the national budget;
Publish and distribute AMB report to various institutions at all levels
(Presidency of the Republic, Government, ministries, National Assembly,
embassies, NGOs, civil society, etc.);
Media House to establish a programme for ODEP revitalisation; and
Establish a mechanism for developing partnerships between the media and
other structures of institutional and financial support.

In order to implement the recommendations, the mandate of the 2008 follow-up
committee panel has been extended. It is made of Mrs. Alwatta Ichata Sahi, Mr
Brahima Kone, Dr. Salabary Doumbia and Mr. Tiégoum Boubèye Maïga, who is
also the committee’s focal point.
With the support of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, which has expressed its
readiness to assist the media in their initiatives, the committee is responsible for
developing, in collaboration with the Media House, a detailed plan of activities
within a reasonable time frame.
