Regional stations of Cameroon Radio and Television produce at least one documentary every month. The 6pm newscast on television is dedicated to reports from the ten regions of the country, while the radio programmes ‘Luncheon Date’ and ‘Cameroun Magazine’, relay news from the broadcaster’s ten regional stations. The regional stations also run programmes in local languages. Regional coverage by CRTV tends to be highly imbalanced, with a few regions such as the Centre, Littoral and South getting more coverage than other regions. Part of the reason for this situation is the close proximity of these regions to CRTV’s radio and television production centres in the nation’s capital, Yaounde.
