facilitates offering formal qualification programmes
as well as opportunities to upgrade skills.
Cameroon has two state-run journalism institutions that offer courses up to the
Masters Degree level, while numerous private institutions offer undergraduate
diploma courses. There are many opportunities for on-the-job-training in the form
of short courses and seminars organised at home and abroad. Some newspapers
run in-house training and coaching sessions for their staff. The state broadcaster,
CRTV, has a training centre (CFPA) that is open to candidates from other media
outfits and from other countries of the Central African sub region.
