Self-censorship also happens due to pressure from large advertisers, even if it is in

4.7 Media professionals have access to training facilities offering formal qualification programmes as well
as opportunities to upgrade skills.
Journalism training opportunities exist in specialized schools and faculties of the
university. They provide professional and academic diplomas allowing graduates
to enter the media corps
Apart from these formal institutions, journalists follow induction and continuous
training through seminars, even abroad for some. These types of courses are
organized, more or less on a regular basis, by professional organizations such as
the UPF, NGOs, some diplomatic missions and international organizations, namely
UNESCO and UNICEF.
The existence of these different opportunities does not mean that media
institutions support basic or continuous training policies. Indeed, almost half of
the journalists have no formal or vocational training outside of learning on the
job. In the public media, advanced training sometimes engenders distrust and
jealousy among colleagues.
