SECTOR 3 3.11 The state/public broadcaster offers as much diverse and creative local content as economically achievable. Analysis: While local content on BTV has increased, there are still too few quality local productions, such as entertainment and talk shows. There is a sense that there is no initiative or funding to support increased local content. The state radio services do much better in this regard and the majority of the content is local. The local programmes on BTV are produced in-house by government employees without experience in journalism. They are not outsourced to independent producers, and thus the local production sector is not given a chance to grow.
