Private and Community Broadcasting)

Amendment by deleting the following words
in the first paragraph:
‘’Charter’’ means an
agreement entered
between the Government and the Tanzania
Broadcasting Services
with regard to the provision of public service broadcasting in the
country;

The requirement for
a Charter is no longer
relevant. In order to
have equal and balanced regulation of media, all media should
comply with the rules
and regulations set out
by law as implemented
by TCRA.

Section 27 (1) (d) Repeal Section 27 The powers to deal with
(1) (d)
issues of media ethics
have been vested on the
independent stakeholders’ media council under the Media Services
Bill, 2008
