Government promotes a political and economic
environment which allows a diverse media landscape.

ANALYSIS:
Media development has to take place within a favourable socio-economic and political environment. There has to be the political will
for the media to develop and inform people properly. The peace and
calm that Cameroon enjoys certainly favours media development.
Between 1990 and 2005, seven important legal texts were signed in
favour of the media in Cameroon: the Social Communication Law,
the Public Assistance to Private Communication Decree, the Press
Cards Decree, the Decree on Private Audiovisual Communication Enterprises, the decree on the Creation of the National Communications Council, the Code of Ethics, and the Charter of the Cameroon
Media Council. But as to the promotion of a political and economic
environment which allows for diverse media landscape, no specific
measures have been taken.

Private media outlets operate as efficient and professional
businesses.

ANALYSIS:

are persons who worked for a print media house and got frustrated
because of the low pay and thought they could make more money
