television and the Chad Press Agency) there are 344 journalists and
technicians of whom 62% are freelancers. Of the 73 journalists employed by these media organisations, 11 are women; in the technical sector (radio and television) we have 3 women out of 58 staff
members. On national radio, the director is a woman, the first since
the inception of the national radio and television, which was joined
together to establish the National Office of Radio and Television
(NORTV). Women journalists have established the national section
of the African Media Specialists Association (AMSA / Chad) with the
objective of discussing women and media issues.
