ANALYSIS: Content of programs broadcast takes into account the diversity of opinion. For instance, in the program “Sign of Times” broadcast on the national radio, tough words against the government are sometimes used by listeners phoning in live programmes. 14 lout of 250 languages are spoken on the national radio station. The national television uses only two languages: French and Arab. Some civil society organizations broadcast programs on the national radio which allows them to use their broadcasts. But it is not the case of political parties which do not even use the special space reserved to them in the programme “Direct Expression” which is supposed to be presented by them. The opposition political parties are complaining due to the unequal access to the national radio and television. For some their press releases are not read in its entirety, which is a discriminatory treatment towards them.
