SECTOR 3 3.12 Community broadcasting enjoys special promotion given its potential to broaden access by communities to the airwaves. Lesotho has no legislation promoting community broadcasting, and there is little precedent for community media in the country. MISA is applying for a license for a community radio station in Mafeteng, at the request of UNESCO. This is because the community currently has no structures to apply for a license or run a station. Once the community is organised, MISA will hand over the station to the community.
