A new development is that of the enactment of the Kenya Communications
(Broadcasting) Regulations 200927 which in 13 (2) provides that CCK will through
the frequency plan, ensure that an equitable number of frequencies or channels are
reserved for community broadcasting and (5) community radio stations will be
allowed to advertise, on their stations, adverts that are relevant and specific to that
community within the broadcast areas.
