Broadcasting regulation is transparent
and independent; the state broadcaster
is transformed into a truly public
broadcaster.
3.1
Broadcasting legislation has been passed
and is implemented that provides for a conducive
environment for public, commercial and community
broadcasting.
The Broadcasting Act 2004-644 was adopted on 14 December 2004 and enacted
on 31 December of the same year. It has since been fully effective and implemented
in practice.
Chapter II of Title IV of this Act relates to private commercial radio broadcasting
(articles 79 to 82), private non-profit radio broadcasting (articles 83 to 86), and
non domestic broadcasting (articles 87).
Private commercial television broadcasting is discussed in articles 88 to 92. The
Act also regulates private non-profit television broadcasting in its articles 95 to 95.
Twenty (20) articles of this Act are dedicated to the state broadcaster.
