print/broadcasting is guaranteed by law and enforced.
There is no law that provides for access to information on media ownership, but
the information is easily accessible by the public from the Registrar of Companies.
“There are perceptions about who sits on media companies as shareholders but
there is an issue of accuracy.”
People are not banned from going to the Registry but the information on media
ownership is not out in the public domain. “It’s one thing to have rights but
another thing to be aware of it.”
