Although most public organisations are working
hard to achieve online presence, they do not always
share relevant information. Public organisations
need to be transparent and accountable on issues
of how public funds are being used in these
organisations, and this information should be made
available on their websites.

y

There is a need to organise and conduct ATI
training for the officers responsible for receiving
and responding to information requests in public
organisations. This will enable officers to appreciate
the importance of proactive disclosure in public
information management.

y

It is also imperative that public organisations have
functional and frequently monitored contact details
available on their online platforms to ensure that
information requests that citizens send through
such mechanisms are attended to.
