The media in Benin embarked on a fast-paced development process with the democratic renewal of the 90s. The structuring of the media sector has improved and inspired other African countries. However, dysfunctions aggravated by widespread corruption are affecting the quality and credibility of the media. A meaningful behavioural change of media players is required to get back on track.
