Some panellists felt that the government uses its power over the placement
of advertisements, and that this tendency is most visible “during a change of
government.” Complaints about this tendency have come up on occasion. Some
private media “use the same approach and rationale for denying an advert, to
deal with the press releases brought to them by government”.
